VG J will join Virtus Pro and Clutch Gamers at the Beyond the Summit house from LA, California to fight for a share of $100,000 prize pool.

A week after Virtus Pro received the first invite to the LAN playoffs as the returning champions of The Summit 6, VG J are announced as the second team to be granted a direct invite. Two more squads are yet to be revealed as direct invitees while the rest of participants will be decided via regional qualifiers.

For Xu 'fy' Linsen and Lu 'Fenrir' Chao this will be the third time in their career when they will be present at the BTS house. Along with Bai 'rOtk' Fan, who was leading Vici Gaming’s roster from 2014, the Chinese support duo were among The Summit 1 participants and finished in third. At the end of the same year, Fy and Fenrir returned to Los Angeles for the Summit 2 and took home the title, without rOtk however, as Vici Gaming’s lineup was a different one after TI4. The TI5 runner up, Sun 'Agressif' Zheng is going to be at his first Summit experience, just like his teammate Liu 'Freeze' Chang, who is just at the beginning of his Dota 2 professional career.

Agressif and Freeze are not the only debutants at a Summit tournament. In the SEA qualifiers, Clutch Gamers delivered quite the surprise by claiming the only spot into the LAN playoffs, ahead of region’s favorites TnC, Faceless, Mineski and Fnatic. Three more attending teams will be decided via regional qualifiers, the European, American, and Chinese qualifiers, all being scheduled to commence on the 7th of May.

The Summit 7 LAN playoffs will take place just a few weeks before The International 7, from June 14 to 18.
