I agree with reviewers indicating that the self guided tour is a disappointment. The brief descriptions of the plants tell you little and often don't appear to match what you are looking at. Many plants aren't identified. Not worth a $7 fee! If someone was there to point out the plants, tell stories about their uses and answer questions it might have been fun. As it was, they really shouldn't have charged for what we got.

Dinah's was very easy to find; several signs were on the main road leading to her place. Dinah and her son were available and answered our questions about the herbs in their products. I found so much to try and buy - soaps (coconut, rose and mint), body spray, deodorant, and tea. They also took photos with us.

The booklet and signs in the store explained what the herbs are known for and how they are used to help heal or treat the body. We didn't spend much time touring the garden because so much had been browned out from the heat (we were there during August). But there were a few spots which had been watered by the fountains. We could see from those spots how much brighter and livelier the garden would be if we visited at a different time of year.

The only reason I rated this "very good" instead of "excellent" is because we visited during the dry season, so I can't comment on how lush it might be during or after a rainy period.

My wife had herself set on visiting this popular herb & botanical garden... and I was a bit hesitant, yet was very satisfied with all the things I learned over the hour tour. And after spending a week travelling around Curacao, I now have a greater appreciation for all the island's plant life & the history behind it.

What a waste. Took 45 minutes to drive there from the cruise terminal and it is hard to find. There is an $8.00 fee to tour the “gardens”. The gardens are overgrown and the plants are difficult to differentiate since all the “brochure “ they give you only has numbers and the number signs are hard to find. In our opinion this tourist site is a total waste of time.

The garden is in complete and utter disrepair. At one time, long ago, I can imagine it was quite beautiful. What a shame that the current proprietor has let the place fall into such decline. And then to charge people to walk through such a mess??! This is nearly criminal! Please don’t waste your time or money.

We were very disappointed. We paid admission and were given a pamphlet and told to go on a self-guided tour. The numbers on the sheet didn't match what what was in front of us and therefore had no idea what we were looking at. We also couldn't locate some of the numbers in the garden. Many of the plants looked withered and dead. It was not a botanical garden. It looked like someone's backyard garden that wasn't kept up. There was no waterfall as advertised. It would have been nice if we were given a guided tour. The place wasn't busy at all. We spent 20 minutes there and that was too long.

If you love medicinal herbs and you are in curacao, this is a must. Dinah is 'the' herbalist on the island and her efforts have 'saved' the local herb history and knowledge. The garden is small but well marked and has many artistic touches scattered throughout. Dinah is a gem and hopefully you will get to spend a little time with her on a tour. There are few gardens in Curacao unfortunately so if you want to see local plants you've got to visit.

We went to visit this garden having read about it and looked at lots of interesting photos. However, when we got there the garden was in a very poor state with many plants and trees well passed their sell by date. We felt it was one of those places that used to be nice once some years ago. Dinah sounds like a very interesting person and has obviously done good work in her field. Sadly, her garden just felt neglected and miserable.

We were quite dissappointed, because the garden was in a bad condition. 12,50 NAF pp. were charged anyway. The waterfall was off, the historical area was run-down, the lady at the counter was not too welcoming and friendly. Money not well invested in my opinion
