Watch: Great Notion Brewing’s Hazy IPAs Go from Taboo to Trendy

Great Notion Brewing in Portland, Oregon, is best known for their hazy IPAs, like Juice Jr. But it wasn’t easy convincing well-versed beer nerds in Portland to embrace this somewhat odd IPA substyle (at least in the land known for its Northwest IPAs).

“This one guy came and said ‘I don’t think this is gonna fly in Portland,'” co-founder and brewer James Dugan says.

But it did fly — and in a big way. In this CraftBeer.com video, Dugan, along with co-founders Paul Reiter and Andy Miller talk about how their beers went from taboo to trendy in a city that embraces craft beer.
