Mary J. Blige Taps Kanye West, Missy Elliott for ‘Strength of a Woman’ LP
Mary J. Blige has unveiled the track list for her forthcoming album, Strength of a Woman. The singer revealed the song titles and guest collaborators via a series of tweets on Wednesday, as Pitchfork notes.
The follow-up to 2014’s The London Sessions, Blige’s 13th studio album will feature Kanye West, Missy Elliott, Quavo, DJ Khaled, Kaytranada and Prince Charlez. On Tuesday, the singer revealed the album cover and release date.
“This is one of my most powerful albums,” she tweeted after divulging the track list. The 14-song album includes her previously released single “Thick of It,” which she co-wrote with Jazmine Sullivan.
“This song is so personal it’s almost painful to let out,” she said in a statement about Strength of a Woman‘s first single. “I don’t hold back, though. It’s not who I am and there’s no way I am going to start changing now. We all deal with love and the emotions that we get tangled up in, and we gotta survive, grow and remain honest to our best selves.”
Strength of a Woman will be released on April 28th via Capitol.
