Psych Finale. You will be missed fellas...

The final episode entitled "The Break Up", had a few meanings behind it.  A sad one for us fans, a deep story for two characters and an awesome show leaving a network that seems to like mixing detective fiction with comedy for about 8 seasons.

Not since Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson have there been a detective duo that has a friendship that fans know will withstand the test of time.  Shawn Spencer and Burton Guster, played by James Roday and Dule Hill have tickled our funny bones and gave us enough nods to the 80's culture of generation X folks like myself to keep us coming back every week.  For 8 seasons this show has been a necessary escape from reality that if I missed a night I knew I lost out on laughter for the week.  Pretty much every actor from the Breakfast Club has made an appearance on this show, Ralph Macchio has been on twice, Cary Elwes had a recurring character on the show that always made for a good episode and the finale delivered on mentions of actors on every season of the show finally making appearances on the this finale.  Val Kilmer, and Billy Zane have been a part of Sean and Gus's comedic dialogue in every season so it is real cool that they appeared on the finale.

It's sad when a show you followed for multiple seasons finally goes away, especially if it was one you were really into.  The nights they occupied seem empty when their run ends, but as long as there is television and the Internet we'll find something new to get into, but it will never be like what was there.  So long Psych, thanks for the laughs.
