PsychoDelia's vibrant trailer promotes Greenlight bid (and pinklight and bluelight and yellowlight...)

Quite a trip

PsychoDelia [official site] is a bright, odd, intense platformer currently on Greenlight. I'm tempted to vote for it simply because there's so much I see in the trailer where I'm like "SLOW DOWN, BUCKO! I WANT A CLOSER LOOK."

"Each piece of environment is a puzzle for you to solve in order to progress, becoming increasingly complicated as you play more and more," says the developer.

As part of that puzzle solving they have listed out some of the environmental interactions or processes you can use:

-Flowers accelerate your movement temporarily and stack together, allowing you to reach disorienting speeds!
-Bulbs which launch you high into the air
-Altars change your environment and help guide you, as well as provide Power-Ups
-Mushrooms shrink you down to the size of a bug!

The part of the trailer which has the player dropping dollops of something into neon waters is, I think, a combination of altar upgrades which lets you make little oil-covered islands which you can skid over to get an even bigger speed boost.

PsychoDelia is due out towards the end of this year.

If you're interested in the aesthetic there's also a Tumblr where you can dig a bit deeper into the development process. I'm fond of the Mr Whippy-style neon goo dispenser video.
