New Cars 3 Trailer Shows Lightning McQueen Getting Back on Track

Lightning McQueen isn’t giving up so easily.

Disney Pixar has been slowly teasing the upcoming Cars 3, with the franchise seemingly taking a dark turn when McQueen crashes during a race. But the latest official trailer is more Disney Pixar style and shows that it will continue to be a kids movie and it’s looking really good.

The trailer shows more details of what we already know: there’s a new generation of race cars and McQueen isn’t the fastest around anymore. He’ll turn to new friends like Cruz Ramirez for advice and training as he looks to dethrone the new hotshot, Jackson Storm.

Cars 3 will release in U.S. theaters on June 16.
