There are a bunch of films and TV shows about to hit Amazon's video and streaming services this May. Prime subscribers will be able to watch Moonlight, the winner of this year's Academy Award for Best Picture, and also the Academy Award-winning Manchester by the Sea, starring Casey Affleck.

It you're keen to celebrate Christmas in May, you'll be happy to know A Christmas Story hits Amazon Prime Video as well this month, along with The Wizard of Oz and Gone with the Wind among others. Take a look at some of the highlights of this month in the trailer below.

Prime subscribers have lots of new TV shows on the way too. The Amazon original comedy series I Love Dick premieres. An adaptation of the cult classic book by the same name, it follows "the evolution of a marriage, the awakening of an artist and the deification of a writer named Dick." Amazon's new original kids series, Dino Dana, also makes its premiere. It's a follow-up to the series Dino Dan, and surrounds a paleontologist-in-training on a series of adventures with dinosaurs.

Some non-Amazon shows about to hit the stream are:

  • HBO's Boardwalk Empire
  • PBS's Poldark
  • Season 4 of History Channel's Vikings

There are also many new titles available for rent or buy on Amazon's non-streaming video service, including T2: Trainspotting, Fifty Shades Darker, and the latest episodes of 12 Monkeys and TNT's Animal Kingdom.

Meanwhile, through Amazon Channels, HBO subscribers will soon be able to watch The Wizard of Lies, the new seasons of Real Time with Bill Maher, and the film Jason Bourne, while the new season of Twin Peaks is about to hit Showtime's channel. Check out the full list of what's new below, and if you're a Hulu subscriber, check our list of what's new and what's leaving that streaming service next month.
