Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Industrials and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.66%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Grupo Elektra , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA), which rose 2.70% or 11.63 points to trade at 442.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) added 2.42% or 0.400 points to end at 16.960 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) was up 2.27% or 0.690 points to 31.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Aeroportuario Del Sureste (MX:ASURB), which fell 3.24% or 10.85 points to trade at 324.36 at the close. Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA) declined 2.43% or 0.770 points to end at 30.920 and Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) was down 2.38% or 1.370 points to 56.170.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 140 to 100 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) rose to 52-week highs; up 2.70% or 11.63 to 442.57.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.11% or 1.40 to $1246.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.79% or 0.40 to hit $50.75 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.98% or 0.52 to trade at $53.65 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.04% to 18.7231, while EUR/MXN fell 0.11% to 19.9567.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 100.40.
