Hans Zimmer Extends First-Ever North American Tour
Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer has added a month’s worth of summer shows to his first ever North American tour, which will kick off April 14th at Coachella.
Following Zimmer’s five April dates in California and Las Vegas and a trek through Europe, Zimmer will return stateside July 13th at Dallas’ Verizon Theater for the first of 18 concerts. The tour concludes August 12th in San Diego and includes a two-night visit to New York’s Radio City Music Hall on July 25th and 26th.
Zimmer’s concerts are divided into two distinct parts: The first half features pieces from the composer’s scores for films like The Lion King, Gladiator and Pirates of the Caribbean, while the second half will focus on “re-imagined” takes on his music from The Dark Knight trilogy and Inception featuring special guests.
“Performing a concert series like this is something that I have always wanted to do, and I am thrilled to tour all across the US this summer.” Zimmer said in a statement. “I am very excited to get some of my very talented friends together and give our audiences an experience unlike any concert they have ever been to before.” Check out Zimmer’s site for full ticket information.
In February, Zimmer staged his first headlining late-night U.S. television performance as he delivered his Planet Earth II theme on The Late Show.
