Her Vets found her floating around the filthy, suffering from a broken shell and severe breathlessness.
The sea turtle had undergone a seven-hour operation to remove the 11lb of coins lodged in her stomach.
Unfortunately today, she took a turn for the worse and died from severe blood poisoning with serious intestinal problems.

Her shell was cracked and infected when she was found, leaving her rescuers worried that she had a tumor. Medics were shocked to see her CT scans revealing enormous lump of metal, measuring 20cm by 23cm by 20cm.
They said she had spent years swallowing hundreds of pennies that tourists had thrown into the water for good luck in Chonburi province in Thailand.
A professor at the veterinary faculty at Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn University Dr. Achariya Sailasuta said the cause of death was blood poisoning from the loose change
‘The poor sea turtle had made her chance to swim freely and eat happily before she passed’ said Dr. Nantarika Chansue.

The sea turtle appeared to be doing well after the operation, but a checkup Saturday revealed problems with her intestines. Doctors performed a second operation, but Piggy Bank never woke up.
She lived in a public pond in Chonburi province, about 110 miles southeast of Bangkok.
