To provide effective logistics support to the FFP/OFDA (USAID) Rapid Response Programme in all regions of Ethiopia. The post holder will be responsible for overall management of FFP/OFDA program commodities in intervention regions and ensure the warehouse functions are complying with Concern worldwide and CRS commodities management policies and procedures.
Functional activities & responsibilities
1. Staff management
· Coach and supports the fieldcommodities monitor and storekeepers
· Supervises and coordinates daily activities of personnel engaged in the receipt, storage, and issuance ofcommodities.
· Ensure store personnel are aware of Concern, USAID and CRS commodities management standards.
2. Technical and Logistics Support:
· Ensure acceptable commodities and warehouse management systems are in place in all warehouses and ensure these standards are uniformly comply with Concern’s and CRS warehouse/inventory management policies and procedures.
· Identifies potential gaps and take correction action that may impede commodity management compliance with USAID/CRS commodity management minimum standards.
· Liaise with CRS field offices and ensure commodities are received and delivered to the respective woredas
· Ensure woreda warehouses have sufficient stock and replenish timely before being stock out
· Liaise with coordination office Logistics officers and ensure field storekeepers are getting the necessary supports from the coordinationoffices
· Conduct regular inventory count and provide recommendation for correction
· Collect weekly/monthly stock report from field offices and verify the reports against the physical count.
· Ensure all warehouses are well structured, secured and equipped with the necessary health and safety equipment
· Establish commodity tracking system for easy tracking and monitoring purpose
· Ensure the necessary store documents are adequately used in all warehouses also ensure these documents are properly archived for future reference
Networking
· Maintain good relationship with Concern’s partners and local stakeholders
Reporting
· Produce monthly consolidated stock report and circulate to relevant Concern departments.
3.1. Education & Work experience
· Masters degree with min. 3 years relevant experience
· Bachelors degree with min. 6 years relevant experience.
· Min 3 years NGO Experience
3.2. Competencies /Knowledge, Ability and Skill
§ Good knowledge and experience in supplies managerial positions
§ High degree of initiative, integrity and accountability
§ Comprehensive knowledge of the polices, rules, and regulations of Concern governing the operations of PDPs and distribution centers warehouses
§ Ability to work under pressure and meet deadline
§ Skill in report writing
§ Skill in the use of computer and S/W related to the job
