Kodak Black has finally had a court date work out in his favor.

The embattled Florida rapper recently settled a contract dispute with his former record label Dollaz And Dealz. Black claims that the label’s CEO, AC Julien, coaxed him into a signing a contract with no lawyer present when he was just 16-years old and “didn’t know any better.” Black signed two different deals with the label, one in 2013 and another in 2015 when he signed to Atlantic Records.

Black says the label failed to hold up their end of the deal which included regular payments to him as well as an accounting of his finances. Julien is currently in jail on unrelated charges and is physically incapable of running the company and delivering on his responsibilities anyway. Black and his legal team also added that Dollaz And Dealz did not possess the mandatory talent agency license that is required to run a record label in the state of Florida.

A judge ruled in Kodak’s favor declaring that he no longer had to record for Dollaz And Dealz. The two parties reached a settlement out of court and the case has been thrown out. The case was dismissed “with prejudice” which means that Black can not sue the label again later.

Black, who is currently in jail for violating his probation stemming from a sexual assault case in South Carolina, will be dropping his album Painting Pictures this Friday.
