Everything We Know About Hulu’s New Live TV Service – Now In Beta

If you logged onto Hulu recently you might have noticed a colorful banner asking if you wanted to check out the future of the service. You would have been directed to an upbeat video previewing Hulu’s upcoming relaunch as a place where you can stream live TV as easily as older library favorites. Yes, Hulu’s Live TV functionality is coming and a select few users can get a beta preview of it right now.

You can apply to be one of these lucky “beta” users by filling out a survey here. However, we should warn you that Hulu hasn’t opened the floodgates yet. A representative from Hulu explained to us that they had only selected about one hundred users to try it out so far, but they will add more as they add more “tools” to the new Hulu experience.

There’s still no official launch date for Hulu’s new live TV service, but expect it to come in the next few months. We do know that a monthly subscription will cost less than $40 and so far Hulu has secured deals with Turner, ABC, FOX, and CBS. The publicist we spoke to suggested that they are hoping to close deals with more broadcasters prior to launch. When we asked about whether or not every channel offered would be part of that $40 monthly subscription fee or if they would group channels in bundles (like Sling TV), we were told that Hulu is still working that out.
