It’s the Heritage Black Bay 36 as you know and love it, with its sleek black and white dial, vintage snowflake hands, and fixed bezel in polished steel. Only it's bigger. Five millimeters bigger, to be precise. Meet the new Black Bay 41.

Why did Tudor make a 41mm version of the Black Bay 36? The BB36 clearly has a lot of fans, both men and women, but I’m guessing some thought the size was a little too small for their wrist (I’d like to add, for the record, that this is not my personal opinion). Whatever the reason, Tudor tells us that a larger Black Black 36 was highly requested. And boy did Tudor deliver.

The Tudor Heritage Black Bay 41 is definitely on the large side, but it is also nice and slim.

While the case is larger, it's been streamlined in order to keep a slim profile. So, while it’s a lot bigger than the Black Bay 36, the 41 is still very elegant. It’s definitely much more versatile than other Black Bays of this size, and while I hesitate to say it can pass as a dress watch, it can certainly be worn with some discretion.

We were hoping the next Black Bay would feature a new in-house movement, but we'll have to wait a while longer. Until then, it’s still the ever-reliable automatic ETA 2824, with its 38-hour power reserve that powers the watch.

Tudor will offer the watch on a bracelet.

Or on a strap. Both references will come with a complimentary fabric strap.

The Black Bay 41 will be released with three strap options (the same ones Tudor gave us with when the Black Bay 36 came out). So you can wear the watch on a tapering bracelet or on a leather strap. Pricing for BB41 is $2,625 on the leather strap and $2,950 on the bracelet. A complimentary grey camouflage NATO strap will be thrown in with either model for good measure.
