Since the first season of Lucha Underground, the collaboration between United Artists, AAA and El Rey Network which brings Hollywood production and grindhouse-meets-telenovella storytelling to pro wrestling, supporters have wished for a way to get the show to a larger audience.
El Rey, where it airs on Wednesday nights (currently its in re-runs; new episodes of season three are set to resume in May), is only available in approximately 40 million homes. During season two, they added the ability to purchase the show via iTunes. But the holy grail was always a subscription-based streaming service.
They attain that on March 15, 2017, as seasons one and two are available for your binge-watching pleasure on Netflix in the United States and Canada.

In January of this year, Netflix reported having 93 million subscribers worldwide and 49 million in the U.S., so this should expose a lot more people to the goings on at Dario Cueto’s Boyle Heights Temple.
And if you don’t know what that means, fire up your internet-connected device and get to know Pentagon, Prince Puma and Mil Muertes. Lucha Undergound’s fantastical world, lucha libre in-ring style and edited presentation aren’t for everyone, but if you’re looking for character development and consistent storytelling, it’s one of the best televised wrestling products out there.
