Samsung begins testing Android Oreo for the Galaxy S8

0

So a few weeks ago, Google unveiled the latest version of its software with Android 8.0 Oreo. That has left many folks wondering when the next version of Android would be coming to their devices, including the millions of Samsung Galaxy S8 owners.

There seems to be some hope on the horizon that we won’t have to wait FOREVER, as SamMobile is reporting that Samsung has already started testing the Android Oreo update for Galaxy S8 devices. The report suggests that the firmware versions will be G955FXXU1BQI1 for the Galaxy S8, and G950FXXU1BQI1 for the Galaxy S8 Plus.

Unfortunately, there’s no timeline that has been leaked or mentioned, but we can expect to likely see this update arrive in early 2018. Although “TouchWiz” is gone, Samsung Experience is a heavy UI overlay, so it takes Samsung a decent amount of time to get all of the bugs squashed and everything updated before seeding the update to owners.
