Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Utilities and Chemicals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr), which rose 3.24% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.550 at the close. Meanwhile, Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 2.94% or 0.003 points to end at 0.105 and Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) was up 2.71% or 0.42 points to 15.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which fell 9.71% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.158 at the close. Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) declined 5.51% or 0.130 points to end at 2.230 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) was down 5.24% or 0.013 points to 0.235.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 60 to 37 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.71% or 0.42 to 15.91.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.30% or 3.65 to $1233.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.51% or 0.25 to hit $49.06 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $51.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.0751, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8695.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 100.09.
