Converse and Alber Elbaz Finally Reveal Their High-End "Avant" Collection
Consisting of six styles that are either scribbled or streamlined.
It was announced late last year that former Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz would be collaborating with Converse on a collection to help celebrate the All Star model’s 100th anniversary. The news then followed with the reveal of the “Avant Converse” collection that’s considered to be the brand’s high-end line.
The first release of the range will consist of six iterations — all made from leather and featuring either Elbaz’s signature scribbles or just simply designed in white or brown. The pairs come in a special luxe packaging that includes an “Avant” branded box and dust bag. Additionally, there will be a one-day installation at the Bank Gallery in Tokyo on March 25 to celebrate the official launch.
The sneakers will range from 32,000 Yen (approx. $280 USD) to 45,000 Yen (approx. $395 USD) with a March 25 release date. No info yet on official stockists so stay tuned as we get more information.
