Here's How You Can Get A Nintendo Switch Next Week

Following
This article is more than 7 years old.

It's almost impossible to find a Nintendo Switch right now without forking over money to a greedy scalper. Don't do that. Patience, as they say, is a virtue.

Fortunately, GameStop just announced a fresh stock of Nintendo Switch units available next week. Other retailers may very well announce the same thing.

Unlike the last of GameStop's announcements, this isn't for a system bundled with a bunch of extras and you won't have to pre-order. On the other hand, you won't be able to order these units online either.

This allotment is for the standard Switch selling for $299.99 in GameStop brick-and-mortar stores---while supplies last. The new units will be available by next Wednesday according to the retailer, but they'll likely sell through quickly given the high demand and hype surrounding the system. And filthy, greed scalpers of course.

“GameStop continues to see strong demand from customers who are looking to purchase the Nintendo Switch system. We are meeting this demand by securing additional systems as fast as we can to ensure customers are able to purchase this innovative gaming technology,” said Eric Bright, senior director of merchandising for GameStop, in a statement. “The customer enthusiasm and response we have seen so far has been incredible as we continue to sell through our supply of systems. We strongly suggest any customer who is still looking to purchase a Nintendo Switch, visit one of our stores as soon as they can. This new allotment will go fast!”

For those gamers still looking to buy a Nintendo Switch, this is good news. Certainly it beats having to purchase a bundle that might not arrive until Easter (April 16). Then again, if you order GameStop's more expensive bundle you can do that online right now without waiting in line or driving anywhere.

In any case, I'll continue to post whenever I hear about the Switch getting back in stock at retailers. If you have any tips feel free to send them my way (erik dot kain at gmail dot com.) If you're a retailer with news of available stock, let me know.
