Jeph Loeb is the author of BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN, BATMAN: DARK VICTORY, SUPERMAN FOR ALL SEASONS, CATWOMAN: WHEN IN ROME, CHALLENGERS OF THE UNKNOWN MUST DIE!, SPIDER-MAN: BLUE, DAREDEVIL: YELLOW AND HULK: GRAY--all of which were collaborations with artist Tim Sale.  He has also written SUPERMAN/BATMAN, SUPERGIRL, THE WITCHING HOUR, CABLE, X-MAN, X-FORCE, THE ULTIMATES 3 and various other books.  His TV and movie credits include TEEN WOLF, HEROES, COMMANDO, BUFFY: THE ANIMATED SERIES and SMALLVILLE. Currently, he is EVP and Head of Television Development for Marvel Comics.

Joseph "Jeph" Loeb III is an American film and television writer, producer and award-winning comic book writer. Loeb was a producer/writer on the TV series Smallville and Lost, writer for the films Commando and Teen Wolf, and a writer and co-executive producer on the NBC TV show Heroes from its premiere in 2006 to November 2008. In 2010, Loeb became Executive Vice President of Marvel Television.

A four-time Eisner Award winner and five-time Wizard Fan Awards winner, Loeb's comic book work, which has appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list, includes work on many major characters, including Spider-Man, Batman, Superman, Hulk, Captain America, Cable, Iron Man, Daredevil, Supergirl, the Avengers, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, much of which he has produced in collaboration with artist Tim Sale.

    Wow, what is there left to say about the Hush story line that has not already been said, so I am just going to write about this edition. First off, they did not overink the thing, so all the details bleed into the background like DC did on other reprints. It is hardcover and the finding is good. It opens up a lot nicer than the paperback edition. There are some extras, sketches, black and white art, pictures of some of the action figures, and a nice section where the author provides notes on various panels and pages of the story. Possibly the last great Pre-52 Batman story, and nice to see the Riddler portrayed as the Riddler instead of a Joker clone. The artwork is fabulous. Definitely worth it if you don't have the collected story, still worth it if you wanted a more durable copy for your collection and have the extra money. Reed it in a couple of hours, truly inspiring. Now I am going to go play with my Batman action figures. Thanks and enjoy.

    As a lifelong Batman fan it takes a lot to wow me and I have to say "Hush" wowed me! I still believe Miller's "Dark Knight Returns" is the best ever Batman story but "Hush" certainly ranks among the top 5. I'm a fan of much of Jeph Loeb's writing but not so much of Tim Sales' artwork and so while I enjoyed "Long Halloween" and the rest I personally rank Hush with the great Jim Lee's artwork combined with this great Loeb writing a lot higher. This Deluxe Edition is the version to have as well with a great dust cover over an excellent hard cover with combined glued and sewn binding which make the pages stay open from the first pages onward and with hardly any gutter loss to be seen. The glossy pages are a little on the thin side but I'm alright with this as this Edition starts with an interview with Loeb and Lee and ends with the various covers and an annotation by Jim Lee plus rough pencil sketches. This is just a great story in a great edition format that for me at least rewards repeated reading and will enjoy a prominent place on my bookshelf.
