Well, I have never seen anything like that before. It’s the first time I’ve known a fifth quarter to a match!

It started to get a bit farcical towards the end to be honest. It was totally chaotic.

You had Samson Lee sin-binned in the 82nd minute and coming back on to the field, the game went on so long! That was amazing.

There’s obviously a lot of controversy over France making that change on the tight-head in added time.

I could see Rabah Slimani warming up on the touchline and it looked as though they wanted to get him back on.

He’s a more powerful scrummager than Uini Antonio, who tends to come on in the second half to bring more of a ball-carrying threat.

Slimani is the renowned scrummager and it seemed they wanted to get him back on to give extra power up front.

Our pack was disrupted by injuries to both our second rows and we were under pressure, with all those penalties on our line. The French were after getting a penalty try

Then the doctor came on and said Antonio needed a head injury assessment.

But Antonio comes off clutching his groin! He certainly wasn’t holding his head.

We all know what happened after that, with France going on to score the winning try in the 100th minute.

I don’t know whether there is going to be some sort of enquiry into it.

But it’s too late in terms of the result of the match. Wales have lost and nothing is going to change that.

Looking at the match as a whole, France were trying to keep the game open, with a lot of slight of hand.

You even had a full-back running the ball from behind his own line, which I haven’t seen since the days of Serge Blanco.

That’s an indication of the way Guy Noves feels France ought to be playing.

Wales' George North complains about an alleged bite

They are trying to evolve their game, but they let themselves down with unforced errors.

They also still have a tendency to be indisciplined and we had the right guy to take advantage of that in Leigh Halfpenny.

He was deadly with his goal-kicking and a couple of them were real beauties.

Our defence was very good again and I thought our back row were tremendous.

But we were under pressure for most of the game in the scrums. We just weren’t good enough there.

The French were always the best scrummaging team we played against in my era. They always had an outstanding scrummage and sometimes they were animals as well.

They look really strong in that department again now. They had the upper hand there.

Wales stand dejected after conceding the last gasp try

We were nowhere near as creative as France either. We weren’t able to sustain pressure because we kept losing the ball in the tackle.

We were letting ourselves down with turnovers. We gave away a hell of a lot of ball.

Basically we were reliant on our defence and goal-kicking.

That is what we did at the World Cup 18 months ago. It was all about outstanding kicking - from Dan Biggar then - and outstanding defence.

That is what we had to offer then and it feels like we have come no further in the last 18 months.

A lot of our play was disappointing. It didn’t seem to have any point to it.

It wasn’t a great finish to our Six Nations campaign and, as for those 20 minutes of added time, well that was just incredible.
