Mass Effect: Andromeda’s weird animations won’t get fixed with day-one patch

But the development team is aware of the issue

Following complaints from fans and critics that some of Mass Effect: Andromeda’s animations were flawed, the game’s lead developer said a fix won’t be coming at launch.

BioWare’s Ian Frazier was taking questions on Twitter from fans about the game when he was asked about the animations. One Twitter user wanted to know if the obvious animation breakdowns seen in the game — as uploaded by those playing advanced copies — would be fixed with a day-one patch.

The issues with animations in the game have been apparent for quite some time, but it wasn’t until yesterday that various people on Twitter, Reddit and YouTube started uploading numerous videos and GIFs demonstrating the flaws at length.

As seen in the videos below, the animation flaws are most apparent when characters are running or talking. Multiple people have tweeted out GIFs of different characters running in an almost crab-like stance or trying to dart from one area to the next with oddly bent knees. In other videos, like the one below, the lack of facial expressions that appear during a dialogue scene give off an eerie, robotic vibe.

The next level of puzzles.
