– UK, London – Avanti Communications Group plc (AIM:AVN), announces that Alan Paul Harper has joined the Board of Avanti as a non-executive director with effect from 17 March 2017.
Alan Harper is Chairman of Azuri Technologies, Chairman and Non-Executive Director at Gigabit Fibre, a Non-Executive Director at MTN, and is a leading figure in the mobile network industry for both the UK and Africa. Alan co-founded Eaton Towers in 2008, a leading telecom tower company and held the position of Chief Executive Officer until early 2015. Operational since 2010, Eaton Towers has established over 5,000 towers across seven African countries, and serves major mobile operators such as Airtel, MTN, Orange, Tigo, Vodacom and Vodafone. Prior to founding Eaton Towers, Alan spent 12 years at Vodafone Group PLC in various roles including MD of Vodafone Ltd and as the Group Strategy Director, focusing notably on growth in emerging markets.

Mr. Alan Harper (aged 60), has three current directorships, at Azuri Technologies, Gigabit Fibre and MTN, and was director and Chief Executive Officer of Eaton Towers until 2015. The only partnership where Mr. Harper has had a position of responsibility is in Palé Hall Hotel & Restaurant.
From 1 August 2008 to mid-2009, Mr. Harper was director of Golden Years Holidays PLC, a property letting company, which commenced winding up proceedings on 25 November 2009 and was ultimately dissolved on 23 May 2015.
