Vroom in the Night Sky was perhaps one of the less essential Switch eShop launch titles, in our review we praised the game for technically working, but on the whole we couldn't recommend it as it just wasn't a particularly enjoyable experience.
Publisher POISOFT aims to rectify some of the criticisms of the game in a upcoming patch as follows:

I don't wish to pass too harsh a judgement having not actually played it, but are we looking at the Switch's first shovelware?

@AlexOlney I have seen the game and it is so bad it is almost funny again.
Y'know, fair play to the devs. The game's pretty bad but at least they're making the effort to improve it with free content updates. I can respect that. A lot of devs would just throw the game up and leave it to rot.
Hiring a professional translator would probably be a good idea though

I checked it out on eshop and quickly retreated to the safety of Zelda
So much for Nintendo getting strict on quality as far as Indies go.

All that said, I must now look up what the hell this game is about. Reminds me of when that crazy Kutar 3DS series article was published here and i had to look it up.
Lol this game has the 2nd worst metacritic
score of all time 16/100... The worst game of all time on any system metacritic is Wii U exclusive Family Party 30 games obstacle arcade with a score of 11/100.
According to Metacritic, Nintendolife is the site that, by far, has ratest this game the highest.. >_>
I haven't played this, but I can't help thinking what happened to the quality over quantity stance? Looks like an iffy Steam effort.
I've downloaded it, but literally nothing could ever convince me to play it again.
@SanderEvers I actually played No Man's Sky and eventhough a lot of the criticism was justified, to compare that game with this piece of shovelware... come on.
No Man's Sky did a lot of things right and was still a technological feat for such a small studio.
At it's core it was a pretty enjoyable game, with great graphics and atmosphere. You either into these explorer/survival type of games or you don't.
It just didn't deliver on the hype and promises, like the Monster behavior AI wasn't as advanced as was shown in the trailer.
That was actually the major gripe of the game and where most of it's criticism went.
Vroom is just a piece of junk and that Nintendo even allowed it to be released on the Switch is just headscratching, as they were so proudly stating they would be more strict in controlling what gets released on the new platform.
But I guess Nintendo was desperate to get anything released in time for the Switch, due to it's lackluster line-up. /shrug
Good for them for making the effort. May not be a good game but their efforts may lead them to make a better one.
Speaking of bad games, am I the only one who finds it funny that RCMadiax, after probably making quite a bit of money on the Wii U, will potentially have to give up making games once the Wii U dies because no platform holders will accept the games he 'makes'?
Even Blok Drop U was a Construct 2 tutorial he turned into a game, pretty much his only original game was Super Robo Mouse which reviewed horribly.
@AlexOlney It's given me the concept of a "lowward jump" to reflect upon, so it can't be all bad. I was never that great at high jump in P.E., but at least now I've got a name for my chosen technique.
Still better than anything RCMADIAX has made.
Well it is nice to see they cut down some of the grinding and are correcting some of the laughable Engrish, but it doesnt change that this game was just plain shovelware. The gameplay was boring, easy, and without anything of interest or engagement.
Still, the idea they even bothered does make me think of them higher than RCMadiax, who instead decided to block me on Twitter when I noted the remarks in one of the Nintendo Download pages as justified.
This seriously looks like one of those really old pc games
