Domino is going solo, and an iconic Deadpool writer is along for the ride. Marvel Comics announced today that Gail Simone is returning to the company to pen a solo comic series starring the beloved mercenary.

“My favorite characters are always the unpredictable ones, and with Domino, you literally never know which way the dice are going to roll,” Simone said in a press release. “I love her, and I can’t wait to show her best bad side.”

Domino will be written by Simone with cover art, seen above, by Greg Land and Frank D’Armata. It’s all about the famous Lady Luck—a skilled marksman, fighter, and lieutenant in Cable’s X-Force, given her mutant probability-altering powers. She’s mostly been a mainstay in the first series of X-Force, though she also had two limited series (this will be her third). This latest comic series looks to put Domino on her own after a falling-out with the mercenary community, forced to defend herself against both allies and enemies. Here’s the official synopsis:

When Domino finds herself on the wrong side of the mercenary community, the favorite femme fatale has to fight back and, somehow, stay alive. Hunted by her enemies, a danger to her friends, and chased by the man who hates her more than anything, Domino will be up against the odds—but that’s never stopped her before.

It’s likely no coincidence that this announcement corresponds with the character making her big-screen debut in Deadpool 2, played by Zazie Beetz. That movie comes out June 1, while Domino #1 will be released April 11. Looks like we’ll all be in luck pretty soon.
