Shocking footage has shown a struggling 13-year-old girl being restrained by her family as a pastor attempts to expel 'demons' claimed to have possessed her.
The youngster had reported being disturbed by figures and strange voices, prompting her family to summon the churchman .
As he spoke the Nicaraguan girl began thrashing around violently, reports El Diario de Hoy.
Local media filmed the dramatic scene after being called by the family as witnesses.
The family said the girl had previously been taken to see "witch doctor" after falling ill and had been given potions to treat her.
The church is still investigating the girl's case, it was reported.
Last week about 20 students apparently fainted as they played with a ouija board mobile phone app which 'called up spirits of the dead' in a bizarre case in Lloro, Columbia.
The school pupils had to be transferred to a health centre and later a church, with relatives asking for the help of a priest.
Francis Salamanca Martinez, the mayor of the town, said: "They are fainting, shouting that the devil was going to take them with him."
Doctors at the health centre were "not able to find a scientific reason for their behaviour," the mayor added.
