Who said you can’t re-invent the lightbulb?
This is the most fun and functioning lightbulb. It is so easy to install. Take the bulb out, screw it it, download app, enable blue tooth, and voila! You access the bulb on the app on your phone which is cool. There is a huge color wheel which is way cool and cam set the mood for any occasion. AND there is a strobe feature which is super cool. Can’t wait to use the strobe on the trick or treaters. You can set timers for the bulb from the app. It is really fun to play with all the different colors and options. Once the fun wears off, I a, sure I will still be happy with this purchase because I love the different colors and can set a different lighting for every type of occasion. Such a great invention!

This is my first smart light bulb. Definitely not my first LED but the first one with adjustable levels. I bought this one because I really wanted to avoid buying something that required a hub. I still feel hubs aren't secure enough to be allowed to run items in my house. On top of the security issue I have, I don't want to spend extra just to be able to control my lights. The price was reasonable and comparable to the competitors.

The app control is great. Like some of the other reviewers said, you can deny access to any of the permissions and it will still work. I don't plan to ever use the music strobe or camera light so I denied access to both of those and I am still able to control the lights. Control is easy to use. I wish I could rearrange the icons on the bottom so the "white" option is in the front as that is the most used one. Color is good and accurate, although it won't seem as bright compared to the standard white light. I did have some trouble turning the light on and off from the groups screen. The power button was frequently unresponsive and I had to go into the individual bulb screen to turn it off. The alarm function is nice as well. That way I can wake up to a lighted room without stumbling through the dark to find the light switch.

The lights may be suitable for the main overhead lamps (e.g. kitchen lights, bedroom lights). But that depends on how you like your lighting. My overhead LED bulbs are 850 lumens each, I like a bright room though, these bulbs would be rather dim for overhead main lights unless you intend the room to be on the dim side. They are great for small lamps or standing lights that are used for small area illumination or mood lighting.

The base of the bulb get a little toasty but it is not scalding like a normal bulb. the white cover can pop off as well. So if you do drop it be careful because the antennae sticks up above the LED panel under the white cap.

Overall this is a great bulb for my use. I would definitely recommend them and the accompanying app for control.

This thing is pretty neat. I bought one on a whim during Prime Day not expecting much, but I was surprised with its features.

Connectivity: I connected to it using an Android smartphone. If you use Bluetooth for your device regularly, it should be no issue. The one catch is the light has to be powered on to connect to the bulb. After that it can be controlled entirely from your phone or you can switch the bulb on/off manually.

Features: This is the interesting part. This thing has a lot of features. Some are more useful than others, but they all seem to work. Besides the ability to switch the bulb on and off, you can: change the color, change the warmth, dim, set a color pattern shift, have it react to music, a "mood" mode, capture a color from your phone's camera, and set a timer to change the bulb's parameters.

Haven't had any issues with the bulb itself. The app has a few small bugs. The RGB number value selector doesn't work, at least for me, on Android. The timer mode uses 00 instead of 12 for noon/midnight...weird. Other than that, all the modes seem to function normally and pretty well, too.

Overall, the bulb works as advertised, has a simple set up, and easy controls. Good execution. A WiFi model might be more useful, due to the limitations of Bluetooth, but if you just want to control the bulb from within the room, it works well.

For those wondering, this bulb's maximum brightness is 550 lumens. It says so on the box, but not anywhere on Amazon or Lucero's website.

This is the first Smart Bulb I've ever bought, and I'm quite satisfied. At around $30, it was a great deal! The form factor of the bulb is, in my opinion, the best on the market. The shape is sleek and appealing, and the part that emits light takes up more of the bulb than any other I've seen, which is important for functionality. The colors are vibrant, and the white light is warm and natural. As far as I've researched, this is one of the best bulbs on the market, especially for its price.

Despite how fantastic the bulb itself is, it's unfortunately held back in more than a few ways by its associated Lucero app. I've seen similar app-related complaints about other bulbs, and they all seem to run on a nearly identical app, but I'm not sure just HOW similar each app is. You may run into some or all of these problems with other smart bulbs.

That being said, the app issues are as follows:

1. Getting connected can be pretty slow and unreliable. If you've turned off your bluetooth, or have just not connected for a little while, you'll probably be waiting for about 10 to 20 seconds. Worst case scenario, you'll have to restart the app and turn the bulb power off and back on. Once you're connected, though, it's very responsive.

2. The user isn't able to use the full color range of the bulb. We are forced to choose color via the color wheel, which would be fine if that color wheel actually contained the bulb's full range of colors. You can never reach a pure red, green, or blue color. The convenient RGBA value display makes it apparent just how much you're getting shorted on the color range. For red and blue, one of the other two colors set to at least 1, which isn't so bad. Green, though, really gets the shaft. Both red and green reach can't get below the mid-20's, which doesn't sound like much but makes a substantially limits the green's range. The best you can get is a minty or yellowy green. No pure green for you.
You can even type in the RGB values, which would be a great feature if it wasn't so inaccurate. Any color outside of the wheel color's range gets poorly approximated to fit into it, and even colors _within_ the range tend to get wildly skewed after you set them. If you're looking to get a specific RGB value, you have a better chance of getting to it with your finger on the color wheel, which makes the type-in feature kinda pointless.
And, in case you're wondering, I'm absolutely certain that this is a limitation of the app, and _not_ the bulb. The app comes with pre-set color cycling functions (some of which are quite nice) that very obviously reach the pure green, red, and blue hues that the user can't select on their own. What gives?

3. Color cycling is entirely too slow. The highest speed is pleasant looking, but still only about what halfway speed should be. The current "50% speed" is so slow that you can often clearly see - about three or four times a second - as the bulb increments the color values by the smallest possible amount. That's only _half_ speed, and it's already about as slow as anyone would want. Bump up that speed, Lucero! Your 50% should be your 1% speed!

4. The "Custom" function is a neat feature that lets you set your own color/bright/dim cycles. Like a lot of other features on the app, however, it is in dire need of improvement. First, our color selection is limited in the same way mentioned above, which also makes the color cycle uneven so that it cycles very quickly through pure red, green, and blue, but cycles slowly through mixed colors. Second, you're not shown RGBA values in this mode. So if you want to cycle the same color, changing only brightness, you just don't have the precision to make it happen. Third, you have to fill all 16 color slots if you don't want your custom function to turn the light off before cycling back to the beginning. Giving us the ability to set the duration of each color in a cycle would also be a great addition; giving us more control on the speed of color change, opening possibilities for all sorts of different strobe effects.
There's so much potential here with this feature. But as it is now, it's limited and a bit cumbersome.

5. "Music" and "Disco" are absolute throwaway features. They're good ideas that were implemented very VERY poorly. It basically just jumps from color to color, changing speed depending on the volume. It's not what you're hoping for.

End rant. Be aware the the apps of other bulbs may share these problems.

Other than those gripes, the app is useful and intuitive enough. You can group lights together, quickly switch to pleasant white light at the push of a button, save colors to switch to at the touch of a button, easily change brightness, choose between any combination of warm and cool light, use built-in color cycles (the rainbow one is mesmerizing), or make your own color cycle! The best thing about the problems I have qualms with is that they can all be fixed with app updates, and as of now they seem to still be developing the app.

Despite the app's shortcomings, I really do like this bulb quite a lot. It's sleek, gives off fantastic light, and is quite versatile; all for a great value!
If built-in Wi-Fi capability isn't a priority, I would definitely recommend buying this if you're looking for a smartbulb!

UPDATE:
So, after looking around, I noticed that the MagicLight brand sells bulbs that are pretty much identical to Lucero, and their app has decent reviews. So, just for the heck of it, I downloaded the "MagicLight BT" app and, what do ya know, *it works with my Lucero bulb!* MagicLight's color transitions when using the color wheel are less smooth, and the user interface is a bit less appealing, but MagicLight's app is far more practical. You can actually use the bulb's full range of colors. The color wheel isn't perfect, but they added a feature of selecting colors via slide bars, so you can directly control how much red, green, or blue you want in your color; making it easy as pie to get pure hues! Not only that, but the color saving _actually works,_ and the icons accurately reflect the color. And if you're concerned about switching to another app, you can actually switch seamlessly between both on the fly, so you're not burning any bridges by linking the bulb to the MagicLight app. What a pleasant surprise!
