Please help me choose my next step in vaping. I am an old handicap lady who has been vaping for 9 years now, and for the last few years I have been in a complete rut. Since about 2012 I have vaped with Itaste vv (versions 2,3,and 4) with single coil 1.8 ohm coil mini-protank, and unflavored nic (30mg/ml).

I usually set my vv settings between 5 and 6

I have been quite happy with my setup. I no longer follow ecf much and have no idea of new developments. The only other e-cig I have tried in the last few years was a mini-istick which I liked but the charge cord stopped making a connection about 2 or 3 weeks after I got it, I bought another one and had the same problems.

My problem is, it has becoming harder and harder to find replacements when I need them, so I am looking for something new that has the same light weight and ease of use. I don’t want something that I have to fiddle with, or adjust a lot. I like what I am use to, but as I said, it is hard to find replacements when something wares out. So, what I am looking for is something new and easy to find that gives me the same satisfaction as my old

If you are happy with and still satisfied with your pro-tank mini you can get a supply of coils for it from FastTech
I too am an old lady with problems with my hands but I rebuild my protank coils using these premade coils. I have bunches a boxes of new coils but am saving them for when the time comes that I am unable to rebuild :D I have mostly shelved my evod/protanks for now though and am now using and enjoying these Eleaf GS Air 2 Bottom Coil

I am curious as to why the charging cable stopped working on your isticks. The istick line is what I have been mostly using for at least 2 years now and so far (knock on wood) they are all (8 30 watt, 2 20 watt, 2 10 watt and 1 40 watt) still working perfectly. Could be the place you bought yours was getting clones ?/?/? or I have just been lucky :)

Hey @kushka , I have a Silver Istick Mini 10 watt that's just sitting gathering dust. Never had any problem with it. It's just that my vaping preference moved beyond its power range.
I'd be very pleased to find it a new home where it would be appreciated. No charge. If interested just PM me.

It's actually a selfish gesture on my part, ya reap what ya sew. ;) Returned home a bit ago from mailing a brand new Melo III tank to a friend in need. (Had no interest in it) As soon as I got in the house I got a text that a tank I've been waiting on FOREVER is out for delivery. YESSSSSS:banana:

What goes around comes around, I like havin good stuff goin around when I can.

I had the same problem with 2 of mine. It turned out it wasn't a bad charging cord, but rather the end of it wasn't making a good connection in the charging port on the mini. So I played around with a rubberband, stretching & twisting it, and placing it in different configurations around the Micro plug and then up to the top of the mod...to snug up the end of it tightly IN the port on the bottom. BOTH minis each charge great when using the rubberband method! It pops off easily after charging, and they're ready to vape with again.

By the way, if you're having problems finding the PT Mini coils...DesertVapes.com always has them in stock, and at very good prices for the 5-pack of them. She runs lots of sales, too, with coupon codes usually worth 10-15%, but sometimes even as much as 30-40% off on things. Might want to sign up for her newsletters that tell about the sales and coupon codes. Her shipping is usually only $3.50 or thereabouts, too, or free...if your order is large enough.

I don't think there is much out there with the size, weight and features. VV3's and VV4's are my preferred out and about setup. I always have a couple in my pocket.

Just a word of warning about fasttech coils. I ordered some a christmas and they sent mt32 coils which they say are the same but they are not. Something is different with the wicking. The do not last and destroy the juice in the tank when they go. All the coils up to this point I have never had a problem.

Just curious...did you buy the Authentic KangerTech Protank Clearomizer Coil Heads (5-Pack) for $3.24 or $2.86 for 5 or more packs. My experience was different than yours so was just wondering

Those are the ones.

These are recent batches. Ordered Nov17 Dec 23 and Jan1

Numbers on the orange stickers.
top row Bottom row
1 155 14 68 1 04 seems to be an internal part number
3 152 9

I track my coil changes on a spreadsheet and these new coils didn't last 2 ml before the taste went horrible and destroyed the juice. It has been more than one pack and didn't matter on the juice. All get used in an RGM2 at around the same watts.

I have not had many problems with the ones I have bought earlier.

I bought my last ones 5/21/16. It is very possible that FT is now getting them from a different place and they are not the same as before :( It is too bad that we can't depend on getting the same quality each time we get them

@mattiem - Your coils you linked to that are working great are:

SKU number 1476404

The coils @corn flakes bought are a different SKU number and therefore different coils:

SKU number 1468104

So the ones you buy may still be fine! I'm going to add some to my cart on FT for myself and a friend who uses them, too. Based on their FT reviews, they seem to still be OK, but we'll find out.

Although a 10W might be good for others I am glad my 1st MOD recommended by people in the forums and my local vape shop was the TC40W because it allowed me to advance without having the need to buy a new MOD. I started at 10 Watts or so and still vape many of the hours in the day around the 10W range but I did Sub Ohm for most of the afternoon at 30 Watts and higher.

The coils I am referring to are the exact same ones. The numbers I am referring to are on the orange sticker that just about everything I have received has on it.

Something changed in the build between October and November. I need to tale a couple apart before use but I think there is different silica used in them.

Yep go ahead and try then. Just don't buy a year's worth then have FT not give a damn.

What FT sent on my December and January orders. They say they are the exact same just a packaging change but they are different.

I understand that the numbers you gave are on the orange sticker, as you said in your first post. However, in your pictures above...it appears to me, that you received 2 different boxes of coils, but both have mistakenly had the same sticker put on them by FT's supplier.

1 box says Coil Unit for Protank & EVOD &
Unitank. The other box shown says they're MT32 Coils. According to more than 40 boxes of those that I have from US vendors, the MT32 Coils are the SOCC Japanese Organic Cotton Wick ones. (It also shows that on the little white piece of paper you show.) The ones in the other box shown are not the same coils. I've got 18 other boxes of them here, too. They both fit the same Kanger tanks, but the wicking material in them is different. The MT32 SOCC ones are actually an upgrade of the other ones, and some websites even charge more for them.

Based on that, I'd say your box that says Coil Unit for Protank & EVOD & Unitank ARE the coils you wanted (which mattiem also buys). However, since both boxes had the same sticker put on them...even though the coils inside are different, YOU got some that aren't what you ordered. That's just my opinion though, based on what boxes I have here and what your pics show.

FT screwed up in not seeing that there definitely IS a difference between what you were sent. They're not known for understanding simple things when there's a problem. I've also "been there, done that" with them, too.

EDIT: Tried to make what I said clearer. Hopefully, it helped.

Hi Kushka
I'm not going to make any suggestions since there already have been some very good ones made. I wanted to ask you a question though. You said;

"Since about 2012 I have vaped with Itaste vv (versions 2,3,and 4) with single coil 1.8 ohm coil..."

I was hoping you could tell us your secret to making a coil last so long. ;)
