Meditation Take Two

I have come to love meditation. I know, I know, I wrote about it last post already; but I cannot praise it enough. I stumbled on it last year when needed it.

I mentioned I found a free meditation series and joined in on the fun. Why not? I was searching for something like this for a long time and Deepak Chopra was at the helm.

On one meditation, Deepak discussed Masaro Hymoto and his research on water and the brain. I couldn’t believe what I heard. He said when thoughts were focused on negativity, water in a nearby glass formed chaotic, fragmented structures. Conversely -and here is the fascinating part -when positive thoughts were focused on the water, they formed neatly shaped, crystalline structures. In other words, we could literally, by just our thinking, bring positive change.

Since water makes up 70% of our brains, this is a powerful phenomenon!

I never realized how much control we do have over our brains. That is, until I worked hard replacing the negative thoughts that were often ruling me. Then, never had my life gone so smoothly. Naturally, when I was suicidal this was out of the question.

What I love is this example is backed up by science. It’s truly amazing! And there are many more. To suggest I could ‘think” my illness away is ludicrous; however I do know my thoughts deeply influence my mind.

Can you imagine if we begin to shift our thoughts to positive ones? How amazing would that be?
