NP qualified for the Dota 2 Asia Championships 2017 last night with a clean 2-0 over Digital Chaos.
“We beat DC for the first time in our lives” were Kurtis 'Aui_2000' Ling’s first words when Digital Chaos called out the GG in game two. NP took the first game of the series on the back of countless team fight re-initiations from Arif 'MSS' Anwar, who had an amazing game one on the Beastmaster and continued his perfect night with a mean Axe in game two.
The second game of the NA qualifiers grand finals featured two pushing drafts, NP with Mirana, Terror Blade and Leshrac while DC went with Chen, Invoker and Beastmaster and also with a minus aura strategy developed around a carry Vengeful Spirit and a support Slardar. However, their push power was not good enough and despite having a good ganking line-up, the early game went into NP’s favor as they had way more reliable setups with Bane and Leshrac.
The 2017 Dota 2 Asia Championships qualifiers will come to an end later on today, with the CIS region being the last one to decide its representative at the $500,000 main event. Three teams are left in the CIS brawl for the one qualifying spot. Empire are waiting their opponents in the grand finals where they will be joined by the winner of the lower bracket finals, Effect vs Team Spirit.
