The 605-hp Hennessey Velociraptor will hit 60 mph in 4.2 seconds

When a standard Ford F-150 Raptor just isn't enough.

We know that the standard Ford F-150 Raptor is far too subtle and subdued for most drivers. The bumper doesn't come with a brush guard mounted with LED lighting and the wheel and tire combo isn't nearly aggressive enough for "real" off-roaders. Most of all, Ford only saw fit to give it a measly 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque from a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6. It's an affront and one that Hennessey Performance Engineering can't stand. That's why it's delivered the second iteration of the Velociraptor.

Hennessey must be pumping in laughing gas through the air vents, because giving what was already a monster of a truck 605 hp and 622 lb-ft of torque is just silly. (The good kind of silly.) The tuner claims a 0-to-60-mph time of 4.2 seconds, putting it in line with cars like the Porsche 911 and Chevrolet Corvette. That increase in power comes from upgraded turbos, a new air intake, an upgraded intercooler, a cat-back exhaust system, and an ECU upgrade. The Velociraptor will do a quarter-mile run in 12.9 seconds at 110 mph. Like we said, silly figures.

At $22,500, all of those upgrades don't come cheap. The truck does come with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty to help ease the minds of customers. Hennessey is offering a Stage One package that includes extras like the LED front bumper, 35-inch Toyo tires, and a 3-inch lift. That package is available for $12,995 and can be added independent of the performance upgrades, meaning a standard Raptor can get all the improved visual and suspension bits.

Only 100 Velociraptors will be made for 2017, so place your order quick if your new Raptor is just begging for an upgrade. And if you really want something silly, consider the six-wheel Velociraptor that Hennessey is also offering.
