ASOS is flogging a pair of jeans that are completely crotchless.

The bum and thigh-exposing  fashion item, which was designed by The Ragged Priest, retails at £75.

And it’s safe to say that the denim isn’t to everyone’s tastes, with some thinking they're a complete fashion failure.

The online retailer has advertised the trousers as “re-worked Levi’s chaps”.

They are straight fit and come in light-wash blue with zip fly detailing.

But the most bizarre element of the jeans is the gaping hole around the crotch region.

Not only does it flash a lot of flesh, the material is also held up by a pair of silver-look suspenders.

Fashion vlogger Lily Melrose sparked debate by posting a snap of the bold jeans to Twitter.

She asked: “Seriously though, what is wrong with clothes this year?

“Like who thought ‘yeah this will be the next big trend!!”

Many agreed with the style guru’s damning denim verdict.

A commenter suggested that you’d only wear the clothing item “when you’ve got the s**** but you’ve got a hoedown at 12.”

Another added: “I know I struggle to get my butt into jeans while getting the waist to fit, but this isn’t the solution I’m looking for."

And a third said: “That is the most ludicrous s*** I’ve ever seen.”

Even though the jeans weren’t to everyone’s taste, some Twitter users thought that they could be pulled off.

Many A-listers have been spotted in similar garments, including Christina Aguilera in her noughties music video for Dirrty.

Demi Lovato was also spotted in a pair of chaps this week at Jingle Ball in Miami.

As well as this, one Twitter user pointed out: “Reminds me of some of Little Mix’s stage outfits.”
