Fishing for funky colorful squid with freshwater lures?! You don’t TRY to catch squid unless you’re a commercial fisherman, and then only at night with bright lights, and they use nets!!! Squid are basically BAIT!!! Some of that gets eaten at restaurants and such. As a saltwater fisherman, I just can’t buy into this. I DO like the sound effects, though! Good news is, most people probably don’t know the difference, so they might find this game enjoyable! KusoBoy Member Sep 14, 2017 6 0 0 #3 KusoBoy, Dec 7, 2017 Hi bigbrand1. Thanks for your comment. We are the developer of this game and it is based on 'Eging'. Eging (squid fishing) is very popular in Asia especially in Japan. We are not sure whether this type of fishing is popular in western country or not but it is fun. Maybe you should try it out. After 93 million attempts I still haven’t landed the tutorial squid. Got pretty close a few times. Looks like one of those games that will need 30 years of practice. I even watched an eging educational video which hasn’t helped, but I can see it is a good simulation of the real thing. Who wants to eat a squid anyway. Edit: After just 25 years of practice I got the hang of it. Squids are now virtually jumping out of the sea and into my cooking pot. I have 2 squid, 3 fish and 1 drink can in the aquarium. KusoBoy Member Sep 14, 2017 6 0 0 #5 KusoBoy, Dec 7, 2017 Asp, we are so sorry you find it hard to land a squid. We have added 2 additional youtube videos to show you how to land a squid easily. Please watch the 3rd and 4th short videos. You can either land a squid by tilting the device with your both hands or by touching the fishing rod on the screen with your left thumb to control the movements. They key to landing a squid is to avoid making big and fast movements. You don't have to practice for 30 years. Make sure your hand movements are slow and steady. You can land a squid in less than 30 seconds. Asp Well-Known Member Aug 3, 2017 769 196 43 #6 Asp, Dec 7, 2017 Ah yes. I had edited my original post but this was not showing. I got my panic reeling under control and now have a modest squid collection. bigrand1 Well-Known Member Apr 23, 2010 4,968 6 38 Geriatric Party Animal California, USA #7 bigrand1, Dec 7, 2017 Ha! You are right! Im on the West coast of the US. Never would you catch a squid during the daytime like this. Anywhere. Ever! Even on accident! Octopus, yes. And youre right, in Japan and the East, they do find this fun! # Cant see the point of eating them, though, if you just put them on the ground in the sun after catching them. They break down fast, (get hard or slimy), so wouldnt it be best to throw em in an ice chest right away?! LOL!! # (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
