Some pretty impressive numbers are associated with the P558 Super Duty

At a grip-n-grin event held to present a trophy to and honor the team of engineers, planners, and marketing folks who helped Ford land Motor Trend'sTruck of the Year calipers for the all new Super Duty, the presenters offered some pretty impressive numbers associated with the truck:

The number of F-series trucks sold since its first year as the best-selling truck (1977). Parked bumper to bumper, they'd circle the Earth three times.

Number of design and development man-hours expended by a team that averaged 400 strong throughout the P558 Super Duty's development period.

The number of 2017 Super Duty trucks sold through January 2017.

The dollar difference in average transaction price between the P558 Super Duty and that of its 2016 forebear (and we're told the difference is even greater comparing P558 with its competition).

Percentage of new Super Dutys being sold in the top three trim levels (Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum—that's a 20 percent richer mix than the outgoing model enjoyed at its end).

Number of seconds between F-series truck sales on average during 2016, resulting in the total sales of 820,799. (Of course, way fewer were sold in the overnight hours and on Sundays, so the interval during business hours was much smaller.)

The average days to turn that a P558 Super Duty spends sitting on a dealer's lot (as compared with a claimed segment average of 84).

Years since the last all-new Super Duty. Wanna bet we won't have to wait as long for the next one?

Number of times the Ford F-series trucks have won our Truck of the Year honors (1997, 2004, 2009, 2012, 2017), with 2017 marking the first win for the Super Duty.
