Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy: Gold DP-12 Pump Gun

    gold dp-12

If you find yourself itching for something a bit more flashy the next time you are at the range, check out the “EXTREMELY LIMITED EDITION” DP-12 shotgun with a gold colored finish. It can make you the real Man with the Golden Gun (diminutive sidekick sold separately.)

Functionally, the gun is the same as the base package gun. But, it is far more powerful on the eyes. Whether that is good or gaudy is up to you.

According to Standard Mfg. Co., the suggested retail price on this golden gun is $1,800. The plain DP-12 carries an MSRP of $1,395.

    Specifications:

    • 12 gauge pump shotgun with two 18.875″ barrels
    • 14+2 round capacity
    • can run 2 3/4″ and 3″ shells
    • a single trigger operates the lead launcher
    • unloaded, the gun weighs almost 10 pounds (about 0.7 stone)
    • receiver is machined 7075-T6 while the stock is synthetic
    • it has a spring loaded system to absorb recoil; also has a rubber recoil pad with dual recoil absorbing springs

The original DP-12 is black. If you like green, the company seems to have marked the price of that gun down to the same as the black gun. Sure, it’s not as eye catching, but maybe you’re one of those understated guys who prefers to let your actions speak louder than the gun’s finish.

Of course, the DP line of shotguns is made by the same company that developed the six barrel handgun and named its rifle line STD.
