Apple has done an outstanding job of meeting demand for the iPhone X. Less than one month after Apple’s eagerly anticipated tenth anniversary iPhone started shipping, Apple has already gotten U.S. shipping estimates down to one week.

That’s pretty astonishing considering that many folks were expecting iPhone X shortages to last well into next year!

The X is for X-tremely impressive shipping

People who wanted an iPhone X have been pleasantly surprised virtually since day one. Not only were there initially more handsets available in store than most people predicted, but pre-orders that were originally scheduled to arrive in late November wound up shipping at the start of November instead.

In mid-November, we reported that shipping estimates had fallen to under three weeks for new customers. One week after that, estimates were again revised to drop down to 1-2 weeks, before dropping to a single week today.

While this refers specifically to the U.S., it seems that shipping estimates have also gotten better in other markets, too.

A few naysayers have suggested the improved availability is to do with weaker demand than expected. However, this has been countered by respected Apple analyst KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo, who says that customer interest in the iPhone X continues to climb — but that manufacturers are just doing an insanely great job of delivering orders.

Right now, Kuo claims that Foxconn is currently shipping 440,000 to 550,000 iPhone X units per day, representing an enormous increase on the 50,000 to 100,000 units being shipped each day just a couple months back.
