Hi guys and gals...
I did read this topic:
https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/o-ring-lube.660794/
But it is not open to further replies. Sorry for starting a new topic.
I bought some of this stuff:
http://www.avidvaper.com/food-grade-o-ring-lubricant/

Does anyone know anything about it? I haven't used it yet, I've had it a month or so and am just feeling overly cautious about it.

Where i have real issues for example are subtanks.. getting the glass off and on.. so i usually put a smidge of e juice on the rings and it helps, but after a while it dries out and gets stuck anyway.

Please discuss..
TIA, Theo

EDIT : Sincere apologies for the double topic.. first time i tried to create it, it just looked like it hung.. after a couple minutes I refreshed and tried again, same thing happened, but obviously it made 2 identical topics. So sorry.

I've had that problem with STMs. New ones that have been sitting on a vendor shelf for a couple years can be a real challenge. (hot water helps)
Now I just leave the glass off the tank when in storage. Lube with juice when I use it.

Another option another vaper posted a while back, but that stuff from Avid, if good, is pretty cheap.
I use a little VG - keep a tiny needle bottle of it just for lubing orings after cleaning...

I don't know what that stuff's made of; I would presume and hope that a vape site, selling it for vape purposes, would do a little research and at least have some idea of what it's made of, and probably some reason to believe it's, you know, probably at least mostly safe for that intended use...however, in my research on DIY ingredients and the debate over "USP"/"food"/"pharmaceutical grade" has led me conclusion that "food grade" is not a label that is actually used to indicate whether or not something is fit for human consumption.

For chemicals such as PG and VG there are various purity "grades" that indicate the type and level of contaminants that are allowed:

"Industrial grade" is the lowest purity, not fit for consumption by anyone. The next grade up is "feed grade." Note, "feed" not "food." This is suitable for consumption by livestock, but not by humans. And finally, there is USP or "pharmaceutical grade," suitable for food, drugs, and cosmetics intended for human consumption.

"Food grade," on the other hand, seems only to be used to describe industrial lubricants, specifically, lubricants that will not lose their important properties on contact with foodstuffs and their associated acids and minerals and things that might conceivably counteract other types of lubricant not specifically engineered for such purposes. So if you drop your sandwich in it, the "food grade" lubricant will be fine. The sandwich, maybe not so much.

I'd stick with good old fashioned USP-grade vegetable glycerin, or just whatever e-juice you have at hand, to lube up your o-rings if I were you.

Some NSF H1 approved lubricants are used on the machinery that process our foods I think your fine with that. I use PG for lubing orings on ocassion, ejuice tends to harden.

    I would find a better atty ;)
um, even my kabuki has the issue.. they are top quality builds, sorry.

it's an oring and glass thing with almost any tank.

every single tank i have, has issues getting the glass off for the first time, if it's a pressfit and not a screw style.

You just must be lucky, is the way i look at it.
