I love a great DIY wedding and this one today totally fits that bill. :) Becca + Orion were married in the backyard of Becca’s parents home in the San Francisco Bay area. They were on a strict budget, but they didn’t let that stop them from creating a magical day! Friends and family pitched in on the food and desserts while the maid of honor + sister (Allison of Engaged & Inspired) crafted up a storm creating a simple + fun design that was bright with color and adding personal details all over the space. It rained all day until moments before the ceremony started at which point the sun came out and everyone was able to have an outdoor cocktail hour in the sun. Big thanks to Pictilio for the gorgeous photos!
From Becca, The main inspiration behind our day was color! We wanted something romantic (soft colors and lots of candlelight) mixed with something fun for all the guests to enjoy. The basic details (linens, etc) were white and we added in a lot of color and pattern to reflect our personalities a little bit more. The main thing I was dead set on was the bright pink felt heart cake topper with a white cake filled with pink cake. To me that expressed our fun and bold personalities the most, and we just built everything off of that.
The most memorable part for us was the first look and the photo session we did. Everything was starting to stress us out so heading down the street to an empty field for the first look was exactly what we needed to get away from it all. After seeing each other for the first time, it felt like the wedding had actually begun. Taking photos was really fun and the setting was beautiful. It was bright with some occasional rain and we had fun playing around with it (and I loved wearing my rain boots for it).

Our wedding was a huge collaborative effort of friends and family. Having the support system there and so many willing hands to help really gave me a more personal experience all around. My advice would be to take people up on offers to help to make it much more of a fun collaborative experience for everyone. It will help with the amount of stress the bride feels while planning, but it is also a huge bonding time for all the people who love you most to get involved and be a bigger part of your day.

I really don’t think I could pick my favorite part of this wedding. The DIY yarn letters are amazing! I also love the idea of a wood stripe down the middle of the table. Such a great wedding full of inspiration!!
This is so fresh and sweet! Love and adore all the apple blossoms. I was wondering where the pom poms cam from at the alter? They add so much!
