'Godzilla: King of Monsters' Taps Kyle Chandler as Millie Bobby Brown's On-Screen Father

The 'Manchester by the Sea' actor is set to star as a scientist and Brown's on-screen father in the movie, which is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on March 22, 2019.

AceShowbiz - Kyle Chandler ("Bloodline", "Manchester by the Sea", "Argo") joins Millie Bobby Brown ("Stranger Things", "Intruders") to star in "Godzilla: King of Monsters". Chandler will play a scientist and Brown's on-screen father in the sci-fi movie.

The follow-up to Legendary and Warner Bros.' 2014 monster movie, "Godzilla", will be directed by Michael Dougherty ("Krampus"). The 42-year-old helmer also serves as co-writer alongside Zach Shields. However, plot details are still kept under tight wraps.

"Godzilla: King of Monsters" is scheduled to be released in U.S. theaters on March 22, 2019. It will reportedly be leading up to a crossover with "King Kong" which will return to the big screen in "Kong: Skull Island" on March 10. Meanwhile, "Godzilla vs. Kong" is slated to bow on May 29, 2020.

Chandler recently starred in "Sidney Hall", along with Logan Lerman, Elle Fanning, Michelle Monaghan, Nathan Lane and Margaret Qualley. Chandler's movie credits include "Carol", "The Wolf of Wall Street", "The Spectacular Now", "Broken City", "Zero Dark Thirty" and "King Kong".
