Gloria Diaz believes Maxine will win: ‘I changed my mind, I’m like Duterte’
Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz wouldn't be the admirable woman that she is if she didn't speak her mind.
The beauty queen recently came under fire for saying that the Philippines' representative to the 65th Miss Universe pageant has a "one in a million chance" of winning and in succeeding interviews where she tried to justify her stance.
But the winds of change has blown and Diaz on Sunday at the Miss Universe Red Carpet event said that Medina will likely win the crown.
"I changed my mind, I'm like Duterte. Huwag mong pansinin 'yong sinabi ko. I'm sure mananalo si Maxine," Diaz told the press.

The beauty queen in previous interviews clarified that she believes Medina is a beautiful woman and a confident candidate, but explained that winning in your host country doesn't seem hospitable.
Diaz on Sunday asserted this again and gave high praise for Medina, "I like everything about her, I think of Isabelle when I look at her. What bigger compliment can I give?"
Diaz is the first Filipina beauty queen crowned Miss Universe.
