Slide is book three in the Boosted Hearts series by Sherilee Gray.

Sherilee Gray has this unique talent with her writing to both simultaneously break apart our hearts and put them back together again. At the same time, her characters are sexy as all heck, steaming up the pages. In this book, we finally get to know the third Colton sibling, Hugh and Joe’s little sister, Lucy. And Hugh and Joe’s best friend and partner in their mechanic shop, Adam Grady.
We know Adam is pretty much a man whore. He goes from one woman to another, never for more than one night. What we don’t know is why. That he has dark secrets he is hiding, a painful past he is trying to run from. And that he has had a thing for little Lucy for as long as he can remember. He has known her pretty much all her life. They are nine years apart and her brothers would literally kill him if they ever knew the thoughts he had about her. But Lucy isn’t a little girl anymore. She is twenty two years old. He survived because she was away at college and the torture of seeing her was only when she was home on breaks. But unexpectedly Lucy has come home, saying she has left school. So now what was he supposed to do?

I have loved this series from the start. And this book was amazing. Lucy and Adam were flawed and damaged and perfection. We also get plenty of Darcy and Joe and there are some sweet little surprises with Shay and Hugh.

The Colton siblings love each other and will do anything for each other. Are Joe and Hugh over protective of their little sister? Oh yeah, they are. But they love her. I loved watching Adam fight his demons, fight his desire and connection to Lucy. The question is, will his darkness win, or will the love Lucy has to offer him let in the light? I hope you’ll give this series a try. I think you will fall in love with these characters just as I have.

4.5 - "I always knew it was meant to be you." Stars!
The third book in Sherilee Gray’s Boosted Hearts series, did not disappoint. Lucy and Adam have been intermittently circling around each other through the previous two books, so it was good to see them finally have their story told.

Taking into account that Adam is co-worker and best friends with Lucy’s older brothers Hugh and Joe, and they are uber protective of their little sister, this book had all the makings of a really great read. The dynamic between the guys in the previous books has always given good banter, but the undertone through that has always been that they stood together, and protected what was theirs, so self-confessed man whore Adam getting it on with Lucy was always going to be a tricky situation.
"Do you plan this shit out, or are you just naturally gifted?"
I loved that the author took the couple away from that environment to give their coming together a chance by sticking them in a car for a cross country road trip.
"For the next three days… I want everything."
That journey in itself had enough thrills and spills to keep me entertained, but the aftermath, and Adams reaction to his changing feelings for Lucy kept me reading well after my bedtime.
She needed to focus on getting her life back on track, not lust after the surly, unattainable bastard downstairs…
But Lucy is dealing with her own set of issues, issues that she has kept to herself, her reason for returning home after dropping out of college for one, and Adam’s constant hot and cold treatment is not something she has the strength to keep dealing with, that is until he goes all out hot, and she finally thinks that they may actually have a chance together.
"No matter how hard I try… I can���t keep away from you."
I really enjoy Sherilee’s books, she gets the banter between the guys (and girls) just right, the connection between her couples is always smoking hot as are the sexy-times, and the drama is balanced out and thankfully never takes over the story, which for me makes a huge difference.
"I don’t want anything from you that doesn’t involve an orgasm."
This series has sort of come to its natural end what with all three Colton siblings paired off, I wonder if the author has any idea for some sort of off-shoot series though as it would be nice to get the odd update on how they are all getting on, and having now read six different books by the author set in and around a garage I think she has found a niche that she excels in (not that I think she should just stick to that trope), and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for her readers next.

Gah! I just loved loved this series and Adam and Lucy's story was one of my favorites! Throughout the other books you pick up on the animosity between the two of them. Also the underlying sexual tension. Adam and Lucy have gotten bickering and arguing down to a fine art. Adam is a manwhore. Every night he has someone different in his bed and is known for the fact that he doesn't want a relationship or commitment of any kind. Lucy Colton is slightly irresponsible and annoying. She seems to constantly get herself into trouble, and when she returns home informing her brothers that she quit school one knows that there's more to it than meets the eye. With Lucy home Adam's greatest temptation is front and center. When she sneaks into the backseat of the car he is to deliver cross country his resolve is tested. The two of them together was explosive to say the least. Like the Colton brothers, Adam was all growly and alpha. Lucy was needed a little bit of a shake up at times for her 'jump first think later' actions.
All in all this book was a delicious read and ended off the series well (even though I wanted to know about babies etc). And Sherilee Gray is fast becoming a favorite author of mine :)

I binged the last two books in this series this weekend and can now say I am 100% addicted to Sherilee Gray's novels. I LOVED this series so much that I want to go back and start them all over again.
I love the way Gray puts together two characters that try to avoid it, but fall in love despite every obstacle imaginable being thrown at them. I look for a story that can grip me in the main characters' emotions and this whole series delivered over and over.
Make sure if you're checking out this one, to try out Gray's new series Lawless Kings. Loved that one too.
I feel like I'm fangirling all over the place but this author's writing is worth it.

This is the third book in The Boosted Hearts Series by Sherilee Gray. I had never read any books by this author before, but upon finishing this one, I went back and bought the first two books. I loved the energy, passion and intensity featured in all aspects of this love story.
Lucy Colton’s notorious for making poor choices and getting into trouble wherever she goes. Her older brothers have been watching out for her and giving her all of the chances at success that they can, but they’re tired of bailing her out. They want her to grow up and to start thinking clearly. To stop making rash decisions. To not throw her life away to avoid a scorned former lover.
Unfortunately, her brothers only know a very small part of the real story as to why Lucy suddenly dropped out of school and sought refuge at home. Lucy isn’t ready to tell the whole story to her brothers, because she knows they’ll over react and get into trouble defending her honor back on campus, but without the missing information, they view her as an irresponsible, lost cause.
While trying to escape the fallout from her last disastrous love affair, she decides it’s time to make her long time crush and her brothers’ best friend Adam Grady take notice of her. They’ve shared hot and cold moments over the years, leading to a confused and frustrated Lucy, but deep down Adam is just trying to do what’s right for a change. He owes a great deal of gratitude to Lucy’s brothers, he believes he’s not good enough for her and he has no plans to ever settle down, so it would be selfish and disrespectful if he were to pursue Lucy for a one night stand or short fling.
Adam is forced to deal with his forbidden feelings for Lucy up close and personally, when she stows away on a stolen vehicle recovery job. Now he’s stuck with her in close quarters on a road trip. She’s trying to seduce him. He’s desperately trying to resist.
When Adam realizes that there’s no escaping Lucy’s advances, they agree to enjoy each other for the next couple of days. They make the most of their time together, stealing sizzling, sexy moments whenever they can, but feelings start to creep into the equation for Adam. He’s always felt the physical attraction to Lucy, but now he’s starting to feel possessive and jealous over her and he finds himself strangely comforted by her presence.
Can Adam bury some of his demons while on this road trip from hell? Will Lucy convince him that she’s worth taking a risk on? When Lucy’s past comes knocking, will she finally tell her brothers the real reason she left school?
I loved this exciting love story. There was mystery, action, suspense, angst and of course some very steamy scenes between Lucy and Adam. The back and forth of Adam struggling with his emotions was heartbreaking at times, but the inner battle made their connection feel more genuine. What Lucy was going through was also gut-wrenching and I couldn’t imagine dealing with it alone like she was.
I loved both the fighting and the loving versions of Adam and Lucy. They shared so much passion for each other and both were such intense characters to start with that the more their feelings got involved, the more heated their interactions became. And it got hot, hot, hot!
Overall, just a really great romance about second chances in life and finding a love worth fighting for.

Oh my goodness! Gawsh! and Phew! were some of my tamer reactions while reading Slide. Adam Grady and the infamous loose cannon Colton sister, Lucy just had to go through all that crap in their lives so that they could eventually come together. Because the root of it all is Adam never thought he could have Lucy or that he deserved to have Lucy and so he discouraged her as much as he could. That sent her spiralling, making bad decisions and having one disastrous relationship after another.
After playing a part in breaking a home, even though she was unaware that her "boyfriend" was married, she quits schools and comes home to lie low and remake her life. But before she can do that she needs to get Adam out of her system. When Adam decides to escape Lucy's proximity and takes off on a road trip, she manages to sneak into the back of his car and he is half way to his destination by the time he realises that she's on board.
What follows is a whirlwind of attempted thefts, steamy nights and twisted sheets and of course the patented Colton yelling and fists in the face.
I received an Advanced Reader's Copy from the author for voluntary review consideration.

When Lucy unexpectedly comes back home after quitting college, she might get herself in whole lot more trouble than she did at school. Her brothers want answers, but Lucy is not ready to give them and decides to take a crazy ride with the one man she has always wanted, Adam. Adam has always been in love with Lucy, but she is off limits because you just don't hook up with your best friends sister. Well, all bets are off when Lucy and Adam realize how they really feel about each other.
This was a little something different for sure. I enjoyed the car action in this book, I mean a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird? If you are going to steal back a car and take off down the road, that is the car to do it in! Of course the love scenes were scorching hot. But, I'm sad to say, that is about all that was enjoyable to me about this book. I found the characters immature and their banter cringe worthy at times. it's not a bad story, I just couldn't relate to the characters at all.

I haven’t read the previous two books in the series, but now will have to go back and do so because I loved all these characters. Lucy and Adam were super hot together, and her brother Joe was an absolute hoot. Great pacing and I loved the whole car thief aspect. Sherilee Gray is a new author to me but I’ll certainly be reading her other work now, too.

This had ALL the pet peeves.
But I read it a long time ago , when I didn't even know what my pet peeves were.(Rookie Mistake)
🅾SPOILERS AND TRIGGER ALERTS-
#️⃣8 year age-gap.
#️⃣H (Adam)is brother's best friend.
#️⃣They have known each other a LONG ASS time.
#️⃣H likes the h A LOT, but she is forbidden. Also, he has a lot of baggage and doesn't think he is good enough for her.( Check triggers)
#️⃣h likes him too and makes a move on him on her 18th b-day asks him to take her v-card, but he rejects.
#️⃣H is a man-whore.
#️⃣h goes to college and falls in love with her psychology proffessor , Daniel (off-page , only mention of it by Lucy's brother).
#️⃣H continues living in the town with hs brothers and manhoring continues.
#️⃣h gets pregnant in college.
#️⃣h comes to know that Daniel is married with K.I.D.S. 😳

This is the third book in the “Boosted Hearts” series, and the first time I have read any of this authors work. All I can say is, that I will be 1-clicking the others in this awesome series ASAP!

Great book series
This book was as good as the first one. I love to read books where no one needs to be dominated, punished or whatever goes with that. These books had strong men, great love scenes and real situations. The love these couples have is exciting. I really enjoyed all three of the books so much so that it was hard to put them down. I will definitely read more from this author.

I can think what to say about this book. I get the friend code but at sometime couldn't you talk to your friends and say it's different. This story of Adam and Lucy really had no substance . The storyline was really weak. The problem Lucy had with Daniel could have been solved if she had reported him. Her hangup was issues about her dad leaving.

Good read, but compared to book one , it just didn't hold my attention, felt a little rushed, and the whole big secret Lucy is holding about leaving school, wasn't really a big deal, saying that I'm on 79% so it may get more interesting.

This book is the cherry on top in this series. So amazing, so exciting. I think the first book was good, but the second was better, and this one is just the best, honestly. Read it in one day. Yeah, it’s not long, but also so easy to read!

This was a sexy read. Some parts with Lucy fell way on the immature side of interactions, but overall I did enjoy seeing Adam come around and figure out what he really wanted.

This is my favourite book so far! I laughed so hard at the bickering between Adam and Lucy. He’s way too hot!!!! Love their story, got a bit teary about his history. I love how loyal Adam has been to the Colton brothers but they don’t think he’s good enough for his sister, hmmm I think they are totally wrong. Lots of humour and spice, just the way I like it! Really enjoyed reading this book!!!!

Well, one thing I can say for sure is that Adam and Lucy definitely have plenty of heat and chemistry between them, even if the secrets they're both guarding are somewhat deep. Not to say that one secret is any worse than the other, but once both secrets were revealed, my first thought is why didn't Adam ever see a counselor to help him deal with what happened? I feel like that might have been beneficial for him. Lucy's issue unfortunately wouldn't be put to rest until the other party finally understood that it really was over.
Is Lucy an impulse thinker? The answer to that is an emphatic YES. But sometimes that's what being young does, you don't always think things through and consider any consequences of your actions and choices. While I don't necessarily agree with her tactics, I do like that she finally got through to Adam enough that he would admit he has some type of feelings for her. If only she knew just how deep his feelings for her really were, that might have saved everyone anger and heartbreak. But then that would take away from the story, especially the scene between Adam, Hugh and Joe. Not to mention the 4 visitor to that already tumultuous plateau. It was never explained how that person knew where Lucy was staying, which skeeved me out honestly.
What I was impressed by was Lucy's change of attitude towards Adam; I can only imagine how much that had to hurt her heart after having feelings for him for so long, but as we all know, there's only so much a heart can take before you simply say "no more". He was alpha to the bone when he needed to be, tender when the moment called for it, and knew how to turn up the heat in the bedroom... he had me feeling the heat more than a few times!! I loved this story so much, watching these two struggle to not let their pasts define their present, and find the courage to surrender to one another completely was a beautiful, yet sometimes heart wrenching thing to watch unfold. This one made my heart happy and had me feeling the intent behind every word, I went from moments of having my heart in my throat and near tears, to moments of complete happiness for them.
I highly recommend this one,

this is the third book in the boosted series even though I've not read the other two i felt like i knew the characters anyway and the author did a good job of that.
Lucy has been in love with Adam for as long as she can remember the only trouble is, is that Adam is Joe and hugh's best friend and yes there are Lucy's brothers.
so when she comes back to town after dropping out of school seeing Adam again brings back all those feelings for him so when he gets a call to help his cousin get his stolen car back to him he jumps at the chance to be away from Lucy as he starts to feel something for her.
but then Lucy knows her brothers are disappointed in her so she leaves town but she sneaks in the car that Adam has to take back. so a road trip ensures and lets face it we all know what's going to happen.
the chemistry between these two is Electric and the sex scenes oh my word wow Adam is sex on a stick. they both have secrets and we don't find out what they are till near the end of the story its a cracking book and i am now going to get the others in the series cause i kinda fell in love with Joe and really wanna read his and Darcey's story.

Wow this book was so good I couldn't put my kindle down I needed to know how it was going to end was hooked write from the start . This would be my first read by Sherilee Gray and now I need book one and two need to read those characters stories and how the couples that are mentioned in Slide fall in love . Adam and Lucy were really likable have great chemistry and the banter is supper funny felt so bad for them both from their past and what they are going through . Lucy was a strong heroine what she went through and what she thinks of herself just broke my heart , when she shows up out of the blue shes not really greeted with open arms from her brothers so when she runs into her childhood crush who is also her brothers best friend she thinks she'll get the same reception she always gets when they come into contact with each other but shes pleasantly surprised at what happens . Adam was just WoW the way he pushes what he feels for the heroine out of his mind just hurt my heart every time he would say something just to push her away , once theses two finally get together it was super hot and intense, the adrenaline moments had my blood pumping . I can't wait to read more by this author .
