James Martin stormed off during ITV's This Morning in mock outrage after Holly Willoughby gagged on his dessert.

The TV chef was serving a rather hungover presenter - and her co-star Phillip Schofield - some wine, alcoholic pears and a creme brulee, but it was too much for her after the National Television Awards on Wednesday night.

"This could go one of two ways. I haven't had breakfast yet," she admitted. "Do I have anything to wash this down with? I'm not in the best place for this today."

James jokingly walked off over her reaction, teasing: "Twenty-three years I've been on TV doing cookery and that's never happened to me!"

It looks as though Phillip's a firm believer in the hair of the dog hangover cure.

While most of us can barely stand the thought of boozing after a night out on the town - Holly included - it appears that Phil has a different way of dealing with feeling rough.

During a cooking segment with James Martin, Phil and the chef indulged in a little wine tasting as the TV star cooked up his creme brulee.

A disgusted Holly could barely contain herself, and couldn't fathom how her co-star was managing to stomach a cheeky tipple after their heavy night out.

"Cheers! I'll have a sip for you," said Phil.

"How was that," replied Holly. "Like a bag of nails? What's wrong with you?!"

Despite teasing last night that they would be getting tattoos to celebrate their Best Magazine Show win, viewers were disappointed to see the stars chicken out .

Holly teased while on stage at the NTAs: “We shamed ourselves last year, we’re not going to do that again this year… We’re going to be getting tattoos!”

Rylan Clark had a surprise for the pair today though, and he told the hungover stars that he had invited a tattooist on to the show if they fancied getting one now.

Despite his best efforts, the now-sober presenters refused to take the plunge and insisted that the moment "had passed".

But they chickened out (

It was a disappointment for fans after This Morning's official Twitter account teased before the show with a backstage picture hinting they HAD got inked.

The account tweeted a picture of a dressing room door with a sign on the front that read: "Warning! Tattoo artist at work!"
