Annoying passengers: What's the most irritating thing you can do on a flight?

Locked up with hundreds of strangers in what is essentially a tin box hurtling through the sky, passengers’ nerves are already fraught on a flight.

It’s no wonder then, that certain behaviour can make people feel even more testy.

But which habits on board a plane grind travellers’ gears the most?

Online travel agency Expedia polled over 1,000 passengers to find out, and the results are in.

With an overwhelming majority of 64 per cent, having your seat kicked by the person behind reigned supreme as the most irritating act.

Twenty two per cent also found couples becoming physically intimate a real turn off on a flight.

11. The underdressed

Passengers not wearing enough clothes was deemed wearing (pun intended) by 28 per cent of flyers. This isn’t as surprising an occurrence as you’d think – a comedian tweeted a picture of a fellow passenger stripped down to his boxers on a recent flight in America.
