Does anybody else who's been vaping for at least a few years have this same or similar experience?

When I first started, it was all about tootle puffing for me.

I'd be buying a tiny bottle of 30 ml ejuice that could cost upwards of $25-30 and it would last me about a few weeks time.

Now, I'm blowing humongous clouds left & right all day long and I usually order my juice in bottles of 100-120 ml and I can get hundreds of ml for the same cost or even cheaper than one little 30 ml bottle cost me before.

I'm not a collector of vape hardware, and I just stick with one thing that I like, and I use the hell out of it. I currently use a target mini which I bought a while back, and I have two of them that I alternate between. I'll eventually upgrade to something else, but I'm not in a huge rush, because the current set up is working ok for me.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that my current monthly vaping costs about 2.5-3 years into my vaping journey is much less than what it was before, even though I am consuming much more juice. I guess that the price of juice has been the biggest factor in this.

There's also a lot of decent hardware out there, so once you find something that you like, it can last for a real long time and keep you happy.

Part of the hobby for me is getting a quality vape for an absurdly low cost. My cost of ingredients for a year supply of liquid is $25. Rebuilding materials are literally $2 a year. I use the same mod and atomizer all day every day. The cost of that rig is less than $40 and includes the cost of the battery and likeily will last several years. Vaping isn't cheap, it's free. That's a problem for the tobacco business, government tax revenues, and the vape industry itself. Speaking as a former long time smoker I call vaping liquid liberty.

I am the exact opposite. Because I really enjoy the hobby element, I am finding that I am spending more now then ever. Not on juice, just on Mods and RDA’s (there are just so many good ones available!)

I am spending more money vaping than smoking, but I am healthier and I have a hobby at the same time - so I am happy.

@IgnorantCig - Now that you've found a set up that you're very happy with...if you want to see your vaping costs really take a nose dive...just learn how to DIY eliquids. There is an initial start up cost for the nic base, VG, PG, flavorings, etc.. But, if you first find a few recipes you want to make and then buy the flavorings specifically needed for those...you'll save a bunch of money in the start up cost. Also, once you find out if you like to DIY, buying the PG, VG, and nic base in larger quantities then, will cost even less, too.

Check out the DIY Eliquids forum on here for lots of info., advice, tips, places for ingredients, etc. Most of my DIY eliquids cost me less than $2.00 for a 120mL bottle, including the cost of the bottle itself!

I agree on DIY. I think most serious vapers who want to save money especially after deeming should get on that train, the good news is it's a seriously fun train! :)

Just bought another liter of 100 mg/ml nic salts, I should be good to go for a long time, given I'm a tootle puffer.... :)

Not many on ecf seem to care about being thrifty, but they're having more fun than when everything was shortlived, disposable, and expensive.
I get yrs out of my mods and tanks so I spend on factory coils and premixed eliquid.

Well buying 100 ml bottles or higher compared to 30ml bottles is definitely cheaper. I also use to buy 30ml bottles for 25 bucks, but now buy 100ml bottles for 35, so definitely a big savings..diy even much cheaper

I haven't had to buy DIY supplies in over a year - nic base+PG, various spools of kanthal, cotton balls and VG off the shelf. Once or twice a year I'll buy a piece of gear or two, or a used set, but my tastes aren't very expensive. I've even started buying gear for a couple of friends who help me out and are quitting, and it's still cheaper than smoking ever was.
