Google marked it as private now since it's been assigned (I'm the submitter so I can still see it). Basically they've made the chrome sync API only for first party (aka Google) builds of Chrome and dev builds can't access it.

They are working on a solution that will require devs to get whitelisted but I'm not sure what that entails yet.

I didn't see anyone reply to this question I asked before, but is night mode working correctly in the beta or stable? I already tried the alpha version and its still not working properly. So far version 52 is the latest release that has night mode functioning properly. Thanks

That's not true. Google is actually not allowing third party dev builds to access chrome sync API any more. They are working on a way to whitelist devs but I think it might be the end of sync for community builds unfortunately :(

I really don't see their point with this behaviour. Are they trying to kill off chromium and community builds?

guys if you need to sync your google bookmark give a try to Basket ;)
Nice features:
1-You can import your already exist bookmark from chrome
2-Automatically add new google bookmark into basket
3-Sync bookmark on your phone

Install both on your pc and on your phone

It's a Workround but not the same as before, let's hope Google step back on this decision.

This has been my go-to browser for a while. For anyone having troubles with AMP links only showing white pages, I found this on reddit which fixed the issue for me:

Tap on the favicon up the top left, tap on "Details" under the privacy meter, then tap "Advanced settings" under the "Web Defender (beta)" section and you should see "ampproject.org" with a cookie icon next to it under "Connected domain settings". Tap the cookie icon and change it to either "Allow" or "Strip vectors and connect". It should work from there on.

Sync works for me on nougat..had to check a couple of boxes and restart browser..and also turn sync off and on

I have the v20..I had to actually..sign out of google on my phone..like settings>sync>google remove account..and after that. Go to tuga and sign in thur the browser...a little extra but it works...

Thank you for this.... This was the only thing that made me stop using the browser...so for being petty ..but am now back using this browser as my default...I just uninstalled chrome dev.

    Channel versions for respective chromium engine:

    Stable: v58.x
    Beta: v59.x
    Alpha: v58.x no more maintened alpha builds ( will only maintain 2 latest caf branches, stable and beta versions )

    Browser optimised to Qualccom devices, it will work on other devices but not so optimized.

    If you are in android 6.0.+ before opening browser give permissions to contact, that way you can sync out of the box with your Google Account. info here

    Also since some are reporting password wipe from google account Sync, maybe better disable the password Sync on PC and only Sync time to time the passwords. Just to be on safe side. Think its some security mesure from Google in place. info here

    Good news, everyone!

    I've got it working! Automated bookmark syncing with any third-party, Chromium-based browser! I ran into issues with communicating and getting things working with my testers, but luckily I was lent a Samsung Galaxy S7 which I rooted myself to test this.

    It turns out there was nothing wrong with my script, and it works almost perfectly! Yay!

    I'm thinking about how I can tidy it up (and am playing around on a secondary Google account to make sure it works repeatedly), and because of that + the time it will take me to write up a tutorial, it may be a few days before you see the fruits of this work.

    I can say right now that a hard requirement for this automated syncing is that your phone MUST BE ROOTED. There is absolutely no way around this requirement because you can't modify items in the /data/data folder (which is where the bookmarks file is located) without root access. Sorry unrooted users, blame Google for taking away bookmark sync.

    Also, my setup is with Tasker. Tasker is the most popular automation app on Android, but it's a paid app (and well worth its price). If you want to set this up with one of the free (IMO less powerful) Tasker alternatives, you'll have to figure out how to do that on your own.
