Scuba diving isn’t just a pastime for vacationers looking to explore the colourful sea life that lives below the surface of the water in tropical destinations, it’s a skilled sport, a life-saving profession, and a thrill-seeking lifestyle backed by a rich history of exploration and advances in underwater technology.

Thanks to the 18th annual celebration of diving, which comes to the Vancouver Aquarium on January 21st and 22nd, divers and non-divers can explore the world of undersea diving – without getting their feet wet. Here’s what you can expect from the weekend’s diving-focused festivities.

Explore an Innerspace Ship, and learn about underwater communications and the remarkable features of the latest diving suits that make plunging deep to the ocean floor more comfortable and effective for expert divers.

Check out the over 20 exhibitors who will be on site – including diving clubs, organizations, and businesses related to various aspects of the diving industry, and take in some compelling submarine-like suits that allow divers to dive deeper and stay submerged longer than ever before.

Kids can enjoy underwater-themed arts and crafts, face painting, and engaging activities as they learn about the diving world through hands-on interactive displays.
