Cheap flights 2017: Ryanair SLASHES price of flights to Majorca in Blue Monday MEGA sale

The low-cost airline decided to treat British holidaymakers on Blue Monday, supposedly the saddest day of the year, by offering hugely discounted flights.

Customers must act fast to secure these great-value deals though – come midnight they’ll be gone.

Ryanair has launched £9.99 fares to a range of destinations for one day and one day only.

These exceptionally cheap flights include Birmingham to Majorca for just £9.99.

This price is for a one-way flight departing 29 January.

However, there are plenty more options that cost just £12.99 one-way in February, while in March there are flights for £16.99.

For those keen to travel in the summer, the cheapest fare is £30.99 one-way in June, while July’s best fare is £36.99 one-way.

Majorca is the largest of the Spanish Balearic Islands, located in the Mediterranean.

It’s known for its white sandy beaches, clear seas and year-round warm climate, making it a popular destination for both winter sun and summer holidays.

Attracting around 14 million tourists a year, Majorca enjoys average temperature highs ranging from 15.4 degrees celsius in January to 29.8 in August.

Ryanair’s head of communications, Robin Kiely, said: “It’s officially the most depressing day of the year, but the only thing lower than the nation’s mood is our fares.

"In an effort to cheer everyone up, we’ve launched a Blue (and Yellow) Monday seat sale, with £9.99 fares for travel in January and February, available for booking today only.”

The budget airline has a host of other £9.99 air fares on offer.

Those who book before midnight tonight can nab flights from Leeds Bradford to Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands for £9.99 one-way.

And for those who fancy a city break, flights from Manchester to Paris, France, also start at £9.99.
