Quite simply, this is a fantastic book, with exclamation marks galore!!! It makes me smile. It inspires a positive mental attitude. It makes me want to grab the nearest child (preferably one of my own), sit them down and impart the words of advice held within. The unashamed optimism leaps out from almost every page as the story follows a little boy in a yellow onesie on his journey through many weird and brightly-coloured places. I like to think of it as the first child-friendly self-help book, full to the brim with positive messages. However, if like me you are more of a realist than an optimist, you will particularly like the notes of caution and realism peppered amongst the positivity. My favourites: 'Un-slumping yourself is not easily done.' And: 'Step with care and great tact and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act.'

    This version was a present to my son for xmas and it's pride of place on his bookshelf. He often asks for us to read it before bed time.

    The text is perfect size for kids to read along and the illustrations are creative and iconic. If there were more of these deluxe editions, I'd buy them all.
