Verizon Will Cut Off Unlimited Data Users Who Average 200GB a Month

If you’re one of the lucky few who managed to hold on to Verizon’s unlimited data for years, you know the company hates it. Now, they’ll start booting you if you average more than 200GB of data a month.

Weirdly, this is sort of good news for unlimited Verizon customers. Back in July of last year, it was reported that the company would cut off unlimited users who burn through 100GB of data a month. However, a new report from Droid-Life quotes material given to Verizon employees saying that users will be cut off if they average 200GB or more. So, compared to the previous policy, this is actually a step up.

However, this is still a “limit” on an ostensibly unlimited plan. Of course, you’d have to try pretty hard to not only hit 200GB every month, but to keep up that average month to month. It’s unclear what time frame Verizon is considering when it calculates these averages, but if you’re still clinging to your unlimited plan, it might be best not to find out.
